SD Worx is set to have nine of its riders competing in the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020, including defending champion of the road race Anna van der Breggen.

In a dramatic unfold of events, Van der Breggen won the race in the Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016 after her fellow countrywoman Annemiek van Vleuten crashed in one of the curves after her victory was almost certain. Five years later, the Dutchwoman returns to the competition to try to keep the Golden Medal.

The road race of Tokyo 2020 will take place on Sunday, July 25 with a finish in the Fuji International Speedway, the time trial will be on Wednesday, July 28, the mountain bike race will be on Tuesday, July 27, and on August 6, it will be the women's Madison race.

Van der Breggen will take part on the road race and the time trail, and she will be race with the team of the Netherlands along her SD Worx teammate Demi Vollering. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio will be in the road race and the time trial with the South African team, Anna Shackley for Great Britain, Karol Ann-Canuel for Canada and Christine Majerus for Luxembourg.

Amy Peters will start in the Madison race (track cycling) representing the Netherlands, just like Jolien D'hoore will do with the Belgian colours. The Hungarian rider Blanka Kata Vas will be in the Mountain Bike competition.
