Criterium du Dauphine

Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain Victorious) has taken the victory of the third stage of the Criterium de Dauphine, Lukas Pöstlberger maintains the lead of the General Classification.

The third day of competition in the French race took place over a 172.5-kilometre route that included one climb of the fourth category and one of the third. Omer Goldstein (Israel Start-Up Nation) and Loïc Vliegen (Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert) created the escape of the day while Bora-hansgrohe took the lead of the pack to control the gap with the escapees.

Vliegen was left alone in front after the 30 kilometre mark, but was eventually caught with 22 kilometres to go. Michal Kwiatkowski took the lead of the pack on the last kilometre for Ineos-Grenadiers and Movistar's Alex Aranburu tried to make a move with 300 metres to go but Colbrelli overtook him on the last metres, taking the victory after two second places in this edition of the race.

Pöstleberger managed to finish the stage with the front part of the pack, which was enough for him to keep the lead of the General Classification.
