The organisation of Paris-Roubaix men and women has announced that the 2021 edition of the race has to be adjourned for the start of October.

The two races were set to be held on April 11 but in the wake of the rise of the Covid-19 in whole France and the prefecture of Hauts de France, the decision of adjourning them had to be taken. The women's race -which is set to be held for the first time ever- will be on October 2 and the men's one will be the next day, on October 3.

"An eminently popular classic, desired by the best riders in the world, followed by millions of fans and broadcasted in television for 190 countries, Paris-Roubaix is also a source of pride for the entire Hauts de France region, which receives it every year with fervour," said the president of the ASO, Christian Prudhomme.

"It is anchored in the territory, it is part of its history. This is why we are happy to announce that the Queen of the Classics will return to its legendary route in 2021 and will also be discovered by the riders in the brand-new edition for the women's peloton."
