Astana-Premier Tech's Alexey Lutsenko has taken the win at the Coppa Agostoni.

Just two days after crashing out of Il Lombardia, the Kazakh rider has taken the victory of the Italian 1.1 competition. He was part of an attack of five on the last climb of the day.

UAE Team Emirates' Matteo Trentin was the first rider to try his luck, and Lutsenko was the only one that could follow. The two riders worked well together to maintain a gap with the chasers and the Kazakh stayed at the wheel of the Italian during the last metres and launched his sprint with around 150 kilometres to go, which was enough for him to take the victory of the race.

"I am so happy with this win," said Lutsenko. "Two years I ago I took second and today I was concentrated the whole time. I think I learned from the mistakes in the past.

"In the finale, we worked well together and then I waited until the final metres to launch my sprint. I had good legs and I am happy that everything worked out. Tomorrow I will take it easy before having my last race for the season."
