The riders of the women's team of Trek-Segafredo have been forced to ride Strade Bianche in their spare bikes as their other bikes were stolen.

The restart of the 2020 season of the women's WorldTour didn't start as expected for the riders of Trek-Segafredo. Their six Trek Emonda bikes were stolen the night before, just hours before the start of Strade Bianche in Tuscany.

"The thieves broke through the roof of the truck and took the bikes," explained Trek-Segafredo on a statement. "The riders will still start the Strade Bianche on spare bikes."

Lizzie Deignan and Elisa Longo Borghini are the two leaders of the formation in the race of the White roads. They will have the support of a strong roster: Lucinda Brand, Ellen van Dijk, Ruth Winder and Tayler Wiles.
