UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar has taken the victory of the time trial at the National championships of Slovenia.

The course of the fight against the clock was 15.7 kilometres long between Zgornje Gorje and Pokljuka and the competitors had to face it under the rain. The 21-year-old was the fastest at the finish line, completing the route in 31 minutes and ten seconds, eight seconds faster than his closest rival, Jumbo-Visma's Primoz Roglic.

One week later, the roles of the two strongest Slovenian riders at the moment were reversed as they arrived together to the last kilometres of the mountain finish at the road race of the championships. Back then, Roglic managed to attack at the last kilometre and was crowned national champion of the road.

UAE Team Emirates' Jan Polanc, Janez Brajkovic (Adria Mobil) and Marko Pavlic completed the top five of the time trial event.
