Astana Pro Team and Trek-Segafredo have taken the overall win at the first virtual Giro d'Italia.

The closing stage of the virtual competition was a 15.7-kilometre time trial that followed the complete route of stage 21 of the 2020 Giro d'Italia. The Italian national team -with Filippo Ganna and Jonathan Milan- won the race of the day with a combined time of 47 minutes and 50 seconds, beating Vini Zabu KTM by 15 seconds and Bahrain-McLaren by 20.

Astana Pro Team took the final victory of the race after having led the general classification from day one. Team Jumbo-Visma was second at 49 minutes and 57 seconds from the Kazakh team and Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec was third at one hour, one minute and 25 seconds.

In the Pink Race, Astana Women's Team took once more the day's victory thanks to the efforts of Katia Ragusa and Liliana Moreno, who had a combined time of 52 minutes and 46 seconds, while Trek-Segafredo was second and the Italian National team was third.

Trek-Segafredo -who was represented on the last day by Ellen van Dijk and Letizia Paternoster- won the first edition of the Pink Race. The Italian National team finished in the second position 24 minutes and seven seconds behind the American formation and Astana was third at one hour and 12 seconds from the winner.
