Movistar's Alejandro Valverde has discussed the races he will likely ride in the new calendar for 2020.

The former World Champion was in the show "La Montonera" of Eurosport Spain and there he talked about the season and his training. The Spaniard has just return to the road as in his country professional cyclists can train again, although he is not giving his all yet because his objectives are still far in the year.

"I think I will take part in two or three Classic races and could be Strade-Bianche or Milano-Sanremo," Valverde pointed out. "I will also try to be in the Tour de France, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, the Fleche Wallonne and the Vuelta a España. The World Championships are also part of my calendar."

With the postponement of the Olympic Games, now the climbers can focus on the road race of the World Championships that will be held in Aigle, Switzerland, and the Spaniard is no exception. "I will have to wait and see how is my physical level after all this situation and after the Tour de France," Valverde mentioned.

"The course is very tough, and I am very motivated because it is demanding and it seems to be designed for climbers. As always, the idea is to be there at my 100%."
