Deceuninck-Quick-Step is set to start in the Tour Down Under with a roster that will be looking for stage victories and good GC positioning.

One of the newest additions to the team, sprinter Sam Bennett, will be leading the roster in the fast days, which are expected to be three out of the six stages. For the first time in the Tour Down Under's history, Adelaide won't feature as start or finish of a stage, but the race will be around it.

The sprinters will have three opportunities to shine and the GC fight is set to be more intense this year, with two stages -one to Stirling and one to Murray Bridge- that will deliver the action just before the big day of Willunga Hill.

"We are looking forward to starting the new season again at the Tour Down Under, where is always a pleasure to be present, as it's such a well-organised race with amazing fans," said sports director Rik Van Slycke. "We go there with a strong team and a motivated Sam Bennett, who will try to get his first victory in the Deceuninck-Quick-Step jersey.

"He'll have experienced men around him, so we are confident he can achieve this goal. We can also think about getting a good GC result, but we'll take it day by day, see how things go and how our riders cope with the heat."

Deceuninck-Quick-Step's roster for the Santos Tour Down Under (January 21-26):

Joao Almeida
Shane Archbold
Sam Bennett
Mattia Cattaneo
Dries Devenyns
Iljo Keisse
Michael Mørkøv
