Canyon-SRAM is ready to tackle the next appointment of the season: La Course by Le Tour de France. The roster will be formed by five riders that recently rode the Giro Rosa and the new British champion Alice Barnes.

The French race will be 121 kilometres long in Pau on the same circuit the men will tackle later on the day at the Individual Time Trial of the Tour de France. This will be the first time Barnes will show her British colours in competition.

"La Course is a great race for women to perform at a really high level with a lot of media attention and global exposure around the race," said the Briton. "In the past, it has been raced very aggressively, and this gives a good representation to cycling fans of our usual style of racing.

"The course looks tough and quite open. We will have a lot of options with our team, but we also will have to see how the other girls have come out of the Giro."

Plenty of the riders that will start in the French race just finished the Italian grand tour. "It’s hard to gauge how the body will cope with La Course after the Giro Rosa," explained Tiffany Cromwell. "It will go one of two ways––absolutely flying, or absolutely creeping! It will be quite individual and I believe we will see a mix of performances from some riders in the peloton who have raced both.

"For me personally, I feel like I’ve been really good with my recovery post-Giro Rosa so far. I’ve allowed myself to recover and I’ve taken it quite easily, but still, have been rolling the legs every day. It will be important to have a good pre-race day training session, in order to wake the body up again, and get it out of ‘recovery mode.’ I’m looking forward to it. We have a strong team, I’m feeling good and ready to race again, and have some fun!"

Canyon-SRAM's roster for La Course by Le Tour de France (19th of July):

Alena Amialiusik
Hannah Barnes
Tiffany Cromwell
Kasia Niewiadoma
Alexis Ryan
Alice Barnes
