Marianne Vos has taken the victory of the seventh stage of the Giro Rosa. This is 24th stage win for the rider of CCC-Liv in the Italian grand tour.

The route of the seventh day of competition was 131.5 kilometres in the region of Veneto and a final climb awaited the riders in Breganze -where Vos also took the victory in 2018. The Dutchwoman was the fastest at the final sprint, beating her fellow countrywoman Anna van der Breggen (Boels-Dolmans) and Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo).

Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) crossed the finish line in the fourth position and at three seconds from Vos, which allowed her to keep the Pink Jersey for another day. Parkhotel Valkenburg's Demi Vollering completed the top five of the day.

"Marianne Vos had put her eye on this seventh stage," said CCC-Liv's sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. "She also indicated this to the group in the meeting of the morning. It was a tough stage with a difficult finish, but certainly, with the current shape, she can handle this kind of stages very well. She has taken everyone to the limit today.
