The route of the inaugural edition of the Women's Tour of Scotland has been presented. The newly created competition also launched its website.

The first edition ever of the 2.1. Women's Tour of Scotland will be held between the 9th and 11th of August. The three-day race will be 350 kilometres long, will pass by five cities and several towns and villages and many of the top women's teams in the world will take part in it.

The opening stage of the race will be 103 kilometres long between Dundee and Dunfermline and will include three intermediate sprints, a moderate climb at Grande of Lindores and a final climb at Cleish Hill. Then the riders will face a fast descent into Dunfermline and then a short climb to the finish line within Pittencrieg Park.

Glasgow will host the start of the second stage of the race, which will finish in Perth after a 139.4-kilometre course. This day will also include three intermediate sprints and a first difficult climb at Dukes Pass that will be followed by a rolling route that finishes in a flat section.

The final stage of the Women's Tour of Scotland will start and finish in Edinburgh and features a course with four climbs that will be decisive for the final result of the race.

The race anticipates around 100.000 spectators and attracts visitors, fans and cycling enthusiasts from across the United Kingdom, Europe and the rest of the world. The competition will also offer parity of prize money equivalent to a men's race.
