The UAE Tour has announced a list of riders that include grand tour winners and world champions for its first edition.

This new race will be born from the merge of the Dubai Tour and the Abu Dhabi Tour and will be held between the 24th and the second of March of 2019.

The organisation of the race has announced that grand tour winners like Chris Froome, Tom Dumoulin and Vincenzo Nibali, the world champions Alejandro Valverde and Rohan Dennis, and top sprinters like Elia Viviani and Marcel Kittel will take part on its inaugural edition.

The race will have seven stages and will open with a Team Time Trial that will be followed by three stages for the sprinters, one for the puncheurs and two for climbers.

The first three stages will be in Abu Dhabi, the fourth in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras-al-Khaimah, the fifth will cross Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah and Fujairah, the sixth will be in Ajman, Umm-al-Quwain and Ras-al-Khaimah and the final stage will see the peloton returning to Dubai.
The UAE Tour will have a complete distance of 1090 kilometres and an elevation gain of around 4500 metres, which will be concentrated into the stages three, four and six. All WorldTour teams and two Professional Continental teams will start in the race.
