The Spanish city of Paterna is set to be the start of the last stage of the 2019 Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana and of the first edition of the women's Vuelta CV.

Paterna will be the starting point of the fifth stage of the 70th edition of the Spanish race like it has been in its last editions. "One of the novelties of next year is that we will also have the departure of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Feminas, which will be held for the first time and will have one stage of 88.5 kilometres between Paterna and Valencia, going through several municipalities," said Paterna's mayor Juan Antonio Sagredo.

"It is the fourth consecutive year that Paterna becomes a cycling capital, showing like this the commitment of the local government and our municipality with sports."

Both events will be held on the Sunday 10th of February. The women's race will be the first to start and both will have a starting route of 5.5 kilometres on the municipality of Paterna to then continue towards the city of Valencia, where the finish line will be in front of the Town Hall as it is already a tradition.
