Astana's Arlenis Sierra has taken the victory at the Tour of Guangxi. The Cuban rider crossed the finish line ahead of Hannah Barnes and Sara Mustonen.

The second edition of the Chinese race was 145 kilometres long and included two short but explosive climbs that made a selection in the peloton. Elena Pirrone (Astana) attacked in one of the most difficult parts of the race but she was later reeled back in by a group of around 34 riders, which went on to fight for the race victory.

Hannah Barnes (Canyon-SRAM) was the first rider to launch the final sprint and Arlenis Sierra positioned herself behind her. The Cuban attacked in the last metres and took the victory of the race.

Barnes, Experza-Footlogix's Sara Mustonen, Mitchelton-Scott's Georgia Williams and Minsk Cycling Club's Karalina Savenka completed the top five of the Tour of Guangxi.

"I'm incredibly happy for this victory, it's surely the best way to end the season," said Sierra at the finish line. "Non-stop rain made the race quite hard, I had a puncture few kilometres before the first climb but I managed to come back to the bunch.

"In the last kilometre I chose to follow Barnes' wheel, I did a good sprint and I got this wonderful victory! I thank God for making me capable of doing this and obviously the whole team for support."
