Trek has confirmed the signing of Anna Plichta. The Polish rider makes the move after joining Boels-Dolmans late in the 2018 season.

Although the rider started with road cycling at 16, it was until some years later that she came back to the sport after focusing on her studies. Plichta has been in teams like BTC City Ljubljana, WM3 Pro Cycling and Lensworld-Kuota, team that lost its title sponsor and closed. A last-minute deal with Boels-Dolmans saved her 2018 season.

At the Dutch team, the rider was doing mainly a supporting role for the team's leaders but at Trek, she will also be able to explore the possibilities for individual success. "I am super excited with all what is coming next season," Plicta commented.

"The team looks incredibly professional, so I'm very motivated to be part of it. For the next year, I believe we can achieve a lot as a team, and I hope it is also possible I will succeed. There are a lot of chances, and if we are racing aggressively, as I like the most, good results will follow."

The Polish rider will join Lizzie Deignan, Lotta Lepistö, Letizia Paternoster, Audrey Cordon-Ragot, Elisa Longo Borghini, Trixi Worrack, Ellen van Dijk, Tayler Wiles, Abi van Twisk, Ruth Winder and Lauretta Hanson at the newly created team.
