Clasica San Sebastian Women's Edition

The organisation of the Clasica San Sebastian has confirmed that in 2019 there will also be a women's edition of the race.

A few weeks ago, Basque media had already mentioned the idea of the organisation of the race to include a women's competition for the same day as the men's. The Clasica San Sebastian has confirmed through a video on Facebook that this new race is going to happen.

In July it was confirmed that the Cycling Organisations of the Basque Country (OCETA) were pushing for the creation of the race. These organisations made an official application to the UCI and the governing body has agreed to include the new Spanish race in the women's calendar.

The women's race would be around 100 kilometres long and it is set to take place on the same day as the men's race. It would finish around three hours before the other race and the final podium will have one ceremony for both.
