Personalities related to cycling have reacted to the reports of the ASO banning Chris Froome from the Tour de France.

Marc Madiot, former professional rider and Sports Director of Groupama-FDJ:

"It would be better if he wasn't there for the general tranquillity of the Tour but if he is there, he will be there. I don't have a comment on that. There is a justice system and it's up to that to decide on all of this," he commented to the site Cyclism'Actu.

Tom Dumoulin, Team Sunweb:

"Well, it's a bit of a mess. I don't know yet if the decision has been taken, but it doesn't seem certain that he will be banned. But the whole thing is just not good for cycling, that's just a fact. I don't even have an opinion now."

UCI president David Lappartient:

"I have always said we would make known the general position of the UCI before the Tour and that will be the case. It begins next Saturday so we shall explain our position during the coming week."

Michelle Froome, Chris Froome's wife and representative:

"Chris will ride the Tour," she said to news agency Reuters.
