The 2019 Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana will take place from the sixth to the tenth of February. The race expects big names to take part in the race, including Team Sky's Chris Froome.

A few details have been unveiled about the next edition of the race, including the determination of the organisation to bring big names. "Our challenge is that Chris Froome starts in the next edition and start his season with the Volta," said race director Angel Casero.

"We know that if each year we bring better riders, they will also bring more attention from the media. And they are the ones that give us visibility."

The race is set to start with an individual time trial and the Queen stage will be in the province of Castellon, including a mountain finish. "In the last stage we will have once again an urban circuit in the city of Valencia because one of our goals is to give the best possible visibility to the city," Casero explained.

The Volta a la Comunitat Valencia also wants to have its first women's race on the last day of the competition. "It would be on the 10th of February with the same departure and arrival as the men's race. It would be on a route of 84 kilometres in the 1. category of the women's calendar."

The 2019 edition of the Spanish race will have a maximum of 25 teams, of which 12 will be of the WorldTour.
