Wilco Kelderman is set to be at the start line of the Tour de France. The rider of Sunweb will have a supporting role, but he can also hunt for opportunities for himself.

The rider broke his collarbone at a crash in Tirreno-Adriatico, an injury that also caused nerve damage in his arm that left him out of racing for three months. "If it's cold and wet like today, I feel the tingling in that arm a bit more," said the rider to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

"But it is going well. I'm noticing that I'm systematically getting better every day."

The 27-year-old wants to fight for a podium spot at the Tour de Suisse as a preparation for his work at the Tour de France. "I'll start in the Tour at the service of Tom Dumoulin and also to help Michael Matthews," Kelderman explained.

"And also if I see the space to seize my own chances to win a stage victory, I will go for it."
