AG2R La Mondiale is set to start at the Tour de Suisse with a team that includes several riders that are preparing to be in the Tour de France.

The French team goes to the Tour de Suisse with the objective of taking stage victories and achieving a good GC placement. "The Tour de France starts a week later this year, and some riders have chosen to take part in the Tour de Suisse so as not to change the timing of their preparation," explained Sports Director Stephane Goubert. "The level will be very high and we start with big ambitions.

"We want to win a stage and will aim for a place in the top ten overall with Mathias Frank. Silvan Dillier, who will wear the Swiss Champions jersey for the last time before putting it back into play at the national championships, will be eager to shine on home roads."

Goubert knows the race can be challenging for the team. "If you look at the profile of the race, you will notice that the Tour de Suisse will be very difficult every day," he commented.

"With a team time trial on the first day and a tough circuit race the next day, we’ll know where we stand very quickly."

AG2R La Mondiale's roster for the Tour de Suisse (9th to 17th of June):

Ben Gastauer
Stijn Vandenbergh
Silvan Dillier
Mathias Frank
Cyril Gautier
Francois Bidard
Nans Peters
