Andrea Pasqualon wins again and takes lead in Luxembourg

Andrea Pasqualon of Wanty-Groupe Gobert has taken a second consecutive victory at the third stage of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg.

The stage, from Eschweiler to Differdange, was 163.8 kilometers long and featured a hilly profile. There were seven first-category climbs to overcome, although this was based on Luxembourg standards rather than those of the Alps or the Pyrenees.

This was reflected in the final result. Pasqualon won the sprint in a group of 15, which had an advantage of 17 seconds on a chase group of 21 riders.

Direct Energie's Angelo Tulik crossed the line in second position ahead of Nick van der Lijke of Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij.

Pasqualon also moves into first place in the overall standings as leader Alexander Krieger of Leopard Pro Cycling missed the cut and found himself in the chase group.

The 2.HC race finishes on Sunday with a 176km stage from Mersch to Luxembourg capital.
