Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data) is ready to appear at the Tour of Slovenia in preparation of the Tour de France, but found time to spend some words on some of his key rivals.

Even though the season for the Briton hasn't been good, with crashes at the Abu Dhabi Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milano-San Remo, he is getting ready for the Grande Boucle. The rider has 30 stage victories on his palmares and wants to reach the 34-victories record that is held by Eddy Merckx.

Ahead of his participation in the Tour of Slovenia, the rider talked to Cycling.be and discussed one of his colleagues. "Look, I see myself as the last link in a chain," he commented. "For example, Kittel is someone that really makes his teammates work for him.

"I don't think that my teammates are my staff. I see it like this, we win as a team and lose the same. I'm not a romantic rider like (Andre) Greipel either. When you think of a sprinter, then you see a strong guy like Andre in front of you. He is 'all body, no head'. I am the opposite and need more technique and tactics."

The rider will take part in the Slovenian race from the 13th to the 17th of June and then he will get ready for the Tour de France.
