Astana's Arlenis Sierra has won the final stage of the Women's Tour of California. Katie Hall of UnitedHealthcare secured the overall victory.

At just 70 kilometers, with both start and finish in the city of Sacramento, the stage was short, explosive and always likely to end in a bunch sprint.

The prediction came true, with Sierra taking the sprint victory ahead of Canyon-SRAM's Alexis Ryan and Rally Cycling's Emma White. Coryn Rivera of Sunweb, one of the favorites for the sprint stages, had to settle for fourth place.

American Katie Hall finished in the pack and as such confirmed her final victory with an advantage of 29 seconds on compatriot Tayler Wiles of Trek-Drops. Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma remained in third place at 1'07".

By winning the race, Hall takes revenge for her second place in the 2017 edition, when she finished at just one second from Olympic champion Anna van der Breggen.
