Megan Guarnier of Boels-Dolmans has won the final stage and the overall classification of the Women's Tour de Yorkshire.

The second of two stages was 128 kilometers long with start in Barnsley and finish in Ilkley. The finish came shortly after an uphill stretch, meaning that opening stage winner Kirsten Wild would have difficulties holding on to her lead.

Manon Lloyd of Trek-Drops and Katia Ragusa of Bepink spent some time ahead of the peloton, but were caught well in time for the race favourite to prepare for the final battle.

Guarnier chose not to wait until the end. The American attacked and no one else was able to follow. At the finish, Guarnier's advantage on Canyon-SRAM's Alena Amialiusik had grown to 14 seconds. Dani Rowe of WaowDeals was third.

As a result of her stage win, Guarnier also secures the overall victory. She is the second Boels-Dolmans rider to do so after Lizzie Deignan in 2017, and the first American to win the English race.

This was the first edition of the Women's Tour de Yorkshire as a two-day event.
