The Tour de Suisse has assigned its three wild cards for the 2018 edition of the race. One Irish team, one French and one Italian are joining the WorldTour teams at the event.

Aqua Blue Sports from Ireland, Direct Energie from France and Nippo-Vini Fantini Europa Ovini from Italy are the ProContinental teams that will take part in the Swiss race. A total of 21 teams of seven riders will start in the Tour of Suisse from the 9th to the 17th of June.

Two teams are receiving a wild card for the second time in a row: Aqua Blue Sport and Direct Energie. The Irish team participated in the race during its first season at a professional level and managed to take one stage victory with American rider Larry Warbasse.

The Italian-Japanese team will include former Giro d'Italia winner Damiano Cunego, who will be saying goodbye to the WorldTour in this race.
