Mitchelton-Scott's Daryl Impey has won the 2018 Tour Down Under. Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) took the victory at the last stage of the Australian race.

The sixth stage of the race was 90 kilometres long and took place on a city circuit in Adelaide. The day was set to have a fast finish perfect for the sprinters.

Greipel was the fastest to cross the finish line, just ahead of Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott) and Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe), both of which had already won stages at this year's race. Sunweb's Phil Bauhaus and Quick-Step Floors' Elia Viviani completed the top five of the day.

Impey finished the stage in 36th position and BMC's Richie Porte in the 42nd with the same time, which didn't allow for any changes in the General Classification. Dutchman Tom-Jelte Slagter, who won the race in 2013 stepped on the third spot of the overall podium.

Impey became the first South African to win the Tour Down Under, while his compatriot Nicholas Dlamini of Dimension Data took home the King of the Mountains Jersey. Peter Sagan secured the top spot in the points classification.
