Sebastien Reichenbach to return to competition in March

FDJ's Sebastien Reichenbach has confirmed that he will be back in competition in March of 2018. The Swiss suffered a heavy fall in the Tre Valli Varesine last October.

The rider claims that he was pushed on purpose by Team Sky's Gianni Moscon and he left the race with fractures in the pelvis and elbow. The latter required surgery.

"Things are gradually improving," said Reichenbach to German website "Fixing the fracture in my elbow was a very important step and I was lucky to have been operated on by an excellent doctor so I don't expect to suffer from sequels."

With the other fracture, things also seem to be improving. "My pelvis is also doing quite well," he said. "Six weeks after the fall, I was able to leave the crutches to the side. If all goes well, I'll be back in March."

Reichenbach started his 2017 season in the Vuelta a la Comunidad Valenciana in Spain and in Grand Tours participated in the Giro d'Italia helping Thibaut Pinot, finishing in 15th position in the process.
