Lars Petter Nordhaug and Leigh Howard will leave Aqua Blue Sport for the 2018 season. The two riders, who were part of the original squad in its opening season, will be going different ways from next year.

The Norwegian has announced his retirement at 33. "2017 was a complicated year for me, with the cytomegalovirus that hit me on several occasions," he explained. "At age 33 I am proud of my career and after a moment of reflection, I think it's the right time to stop.

"I believe in this project and I do not want to be a weight in 2018; now I will be the first team fan and I will dedicate myself to more."

The 28-year-old Australian Howard chooses to leave the road and focus solely on track cycling. "I have decided to abandon professional cycling in Europe, for now, to concentrate on the track with the goal of being summoned for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games," he commented.

"It was not a simple choice, but I think that at this point in my career, it's fair to dedicate myself to something I really want to get."
