French Continental team Armee de Terre may not be able to compete next season as it has failed provided the required domestic paperwork on time.

Newspaper Le Parisien reports that the team missed the November 1 deadline to provide the Ligue Nationale de Cyclisme with the necessary registrations.

The newspaper explains that this was caused by chances at the ministry of defense. The new minister, Florence Parly, is reportedly not particularly determined to keep supporting the cycling formation. The French army currently owns half of the team.

A potential decision to discontinue the team would have litttle to do with its actual perforrmance. Armee de Terre earned 20 victories in 2017 and finished ninth in the UCI Europe Tour.

The team was set up in 2011 and joined the UCI Continental level in 2015. Current riders include Bryan Alaphilippe and Yann Guyot.
