Egan Bernal just finished his last season with Androni-Sidermec and is taking the step with Team Sky with the main objective of learning.

The Colombian has shown his talents by winning races like the Tour de l'Avenir, which has earned him praise and comparisons with his fellow countryman Nairo Quintana. "To write on Twitter that Bernal is the next Quintana is very easy, but to do it is a different story," said the rider to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport. "I have confidence in my abilities and I think I can be a good rider."

Bernal is very excited to join a team that is considered one of the best in the sport and his transition is made easy by the presence of another two Colombians: Sergio and Sebastian Henao. "I've already talked to the Colombians of the team and they told me that they are not aliens, that they don't do anything special."

"My main objective at Sky is to learn. I want to take advantage and learn from the most experienced riders in the formation."

Now looking at the future, the rider also had time to look at his past and remember his old dreams. "I wanted to be a journalist and to focus on politics. A journalist has a key function in society. Journalists have to tell the truth about what is right and what is wrong and open the eyes of the people."
