Quick-Step Floors' CEO Patrick Lefevere has stated that Bob Jungels will be given the opportunity to lead the team at the Tour de France next year.

After the departure of Dan Martin to UAE Team Emirates, the Belgian team didn't seem to have a leader for the Grand Tours but Quick-Step's chief already had a plan. "Martin was lost for monetary reasons and now Bob Jungels is developing," he said to Belgian broadcaster Sporza.

"The past season he was the best young rider at the Giro d'Italia. Next year we will throw him to the lions in the Tour de France."

In the continuation of the interview with the Belgian broadcaster, Lotto-Soudal's boss Paul De Geyter was also present and discussed the future of his team. "I want to keep the family atmosphere in the team. We are a human team, just like Quick-Step, but in professional terms, progress has to be made," he commented.

"For example, we have to improve the interaction between the trainers, the medical team and the team leaders. I also think the team has to put more focus on the spring races. We need to make that clear choice and those races are in our DNA by being in Flanders and Belgium."
