Just weeks after announcing the creation of a women's team, Movistar has already signed its first eight riders for the squad.

The Spanish team will be part of the UCI Women's peloton in 2018 and is preparing itself by signing important talents. Six Spaniards, one Polish and one French rider have signed for the newly created team.

Mavi Garcia, Lourdes Oyarbide and Lorena Llamas make the move from Bizkaia-Durango, and Eider Merino, Alicia Gonzalez and Alba Terual come from Lointek.

They will be joined by Malgorzata Jasinska who has nine years of experience in the professional peloton and comes from Cylance ProCycling. The 26-year-old Aude Biannic makes the move from FDJ and her palmares includes top ten spots in the World Championships and Olympic Games.

The directors of the Spanish squad expect to have another two signings in the next days to complete a roster of ten riders to compete in its first season as a professional team.
