Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) just finished his last day of real racing as a professional rider and the world of cycling is already talking about life without him.

The Director of the Vuelta a España, Javier Guillén, talked to the Spanish media about the rider. "We are going to miss Alberto Contador," he said. "He's an example of the kind of cycling that the Spanish Grand Tour likes, wants and needs. He offers competitiveness and aggressiveness.

Guillén believes that Spanish cycling and riders should take note of what makes Contador a unique cyclist. "His way of racing, his professionalism and his fellowship with his teammates are examples that other cyclists should follow," he commented.

"I really hope this example is followed by the riders that are still active and the ones that are to come, because we all need and want this kind of cycling."
