Travis McCabe victorious in Tour of Utah

Travis McCabe of UnitedHealthCare Pro Cycling Team has won the fifth stage of the 2017 Tour of Utah.

The fifth of seven stages began in Layton and finished in Bountiful after 185 kilometers (115 miles). The second half of the course included a number of climbs, most of which with an elevation of about 300 meters (900ft).

Although there were breakaways throughout the day, the eventual battle for victory had about 20 riders including the main GC players engaging in the mass sprint.

McCabe launched a powerful effort to take the victory ahead of Marco Canola of Nippo - Vini Fantini and Axeon's Michael Rice.

Little changes in the battle for the overall victory as Rob Britton of Rally Cycling remains in first place.
