Team Sunweb has announced its long-list for the upcoming Vuelta a España. Wilco Kelderman is expected to lead the team, which may also end up selecting Warren Barguil for the Spanish race.

The challenge for the overall classification will likely see Kelderman assisted by Sam Oomen. The two are currently preparing for the task in the Tour de Pologne.

"We have a good mix of riders on our long-list with a variety of skills that will be valuable in different types of stages and race situations," said team coach Marc Reef. "With our ambition in mind to explore our overall possibilities, we will need a team with time trial, climbing and Grand Tour experience to be competitive throughout the three weeks of racing.

"As always in Spain, the parcours are really challenging and we have been preparing extensively over the past months so we know exactly what to expect.

"Coming off the back of a really successful Grand Tour season for Team Sunweb, we hope to continue the momentum in Spain and can use the extra knowledge and experience gathered during these successes to help us on our journey to Madrid."

The list also includes Frenchman Warren Barguil, who recently won the Polka Dot Jersey and two stages at the Tour de France. If selected, it will be Barguil's last grand tour with Sunweb as the rider is set to move to Fortuneo-Oscaro next season.

The complete long-list:

Søren Kragh Andersen (DEN)
Warren Barguil (FRA)
Bert De Backer (BEL)

Lennard Kämna (GER)
