Alexander Kristoff set to join UAE Team Emirates

Norwegian Alexander Kristoff is set to move from Katusha-Alpecin to UAE Team Emirates at the end of the season.

This was unveiled by his new team, which adds that the agreement has been reached but the contract has yet to be signed in the next few weeks, pending routine medical tests.

The 30-year-old rider has formed part of Katusha's roster since 2012, after previously having represented teams like Maxbo-Bianchi and BMC Racing Team.

While riding for Katusha, Kristoff won two Tour de France stages, Milan-San Remo, the Tour of Flanders, Vattenfall Cyclassics, the GP OUest-France, the Three days of De Panne and the Tour des Fjords (twice).

The Scandinavian won plenty of races in 2016 but failed to take victories at major races. The current season started in a similar fashion but pressure was relieved by a win at the RideLondon classic in late July.
